EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)

EFT is a Western application developed by Gary Craig out of Dr. Roger Callahan's 1980 Thought Field Therapy (TFT) discovery, and is based on the subtle energy system of acupuncture meridians that was discovered by the Chinese about 5,000 years ago. It also includes Albert Einstein's idea that everything is energy and as well, ongoing discoveries in Quantum Theory.

When energy gets stuck or disrupts our inner peace, we experience its effects: unease, discomfort and pain. With physical tapping at the specific points along our energy meridians, EFT "taps" into our energy system to help release blocked energy, and to balance and restore the flow to keep it running smoothly.

EFT Tapping Points

1) "The Sequence": Tap 5 to 10 times at each tapping point in sequence (using 1-3 fingers - whatever is comfortable).

1. Beginning of Inner Eyebrow - where the bone behind your eyebrow becomes the bridge of your nose. 
2. Side of eye - on the bone groove at the corner of the eye.
3. Under eye - on the bone shelf just below your eye in line with your pupil when looking straight ahead. 
4. Under the nose - between your nose and upper lip. 
5. Under lips (chin) - in the indentation between your chin and lower lip. 
6. Collar bone - in the angle formed by your collarbone and breastbone. 
7. Under the arm - 4 inches below the arm pit in the axillary line, opposite the nipple. 
8. Side of Thumb - at the nail
9. Side of Index finger - at the nail
10. Side of Middle finger - at the nail
11. Side of Little finger - at the nail
12. Karate chop point (using 4 fingers)
13. G - Tap 50 Times on the Gamut Point - on the back of either hand behind and between the knuckles at the base of the ring finger and the little finger - tap with 4 fingers along that line.


2) "9-Gamut Procedure": Continue tapping on the Gamut point while doing the following:

1. Look straight ahead
2. Close your eyes
3. Open your eyes
4. Look down to the right
5. Look down to the left
6. Eye roll: Sweep (circle) your eyes up, around and back down to the right. (It's important to get the full circumference when doing the eye roll).
7. Eye Roll back: Sweep (circle) your eyes up, around and back down to the left.
8. Hum aloud a few notes of any music.(eg. Happy Birthday to You)
9. Count out loud slowly to 5.
10. Hum a few notes again.
11. Tap 20 times under the nose


3) "The Sequence":Repeat Step 1: Tap 5 to 10 times at each tapping point in sequence.

1. Inner Eyebrow
2. Outer eye
3. Under eye
4. Under the nose
5. Under lips (chin)
6. Collar bone
7. Under arms
8. Side of Thumb - at the nail
9. Side of Index finger - at the nail
10. Side of Middle finger - at the nail
11. Side of Little finger - at the nail
12. Karate chop point
13. G - Tap 50 Times on the Gamut Point,
